Concrete Laborers

Position Description:

Join our team and family culture as a full-time, direct hire laborer with opportunities for growth. The position consists of manual labor using basic hand and power tools that will teach laborers knowledge of the basics of concrete. Employees work year-round in an outdoor work setting with weekly pay.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Safely and effectively perform all basic tasks and work proactively.
  • Use various hand and power tools efficiently and safely (hammer, shovel, pick, sledgehammer, tape measure, drill, hammer drills, skill saw, jack hammer etc.).
  • Ability to handle, carry, and maneuver various items around the jobsite– some weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Assist team in all aspects of the job such as loading trucks, cleaning tools and job site, prep work, etc.
  • Develop and apply a working knowledge of:
    • Forms
    • Construction of Footings & Foundations
    • Bulkheading Jumps
    • Bracing Layout
  • Operating:
    • Vibraters
    • Pump Hose
    • Skid Steer
  • Exhibit problem solving skills associated with your level of work.
  • Attend company meetings and training as required.
  • Follow and adhere to Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Training to gain knowledge of:
    • Staging and Setting Forms
    • Stripping forms from placed Concrete
    • Loading Trucks & Fill Basket
    • Install Windows & other Accesses
    • Cutting, Bending, & Tying Rebar
    • Floating/Manipulating Concrete

Position Requirements:

  • No prior experience necessary, on the job training provided!
  • Previous experience in concrete or landscaping is a plus.
  • Valid non-restricted Ohio Driver’s License preferred

Position Schedule:

  • Work week is Monday-Friday
  • Start time is from 6 am – 7am based on assigned crew
  • No set end time for the shift; typical day averages 10-12 hours

Advanced Concrete Finisher

Position Description:

Join our team and family culture as a full-time, direct hire advanced finisher with opportunities for growth. Utilize your concrete skill set to lead others and showcase your advanced ability to work with concrete in multiple facets. The advanced employee will be expected to exhibit high level efficiency and skills in all phases of flatwork construction and demonstrate leadership on the jobsite.  Employees work year-round in an outdoor work setting with weekly pay.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently performs all required tasks and work proactively.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment and concrete tools effectively and safely.
  • Ability to handle, carry, and maneuver various items around the jobsite– some weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Exhibit proficiency and job knowledge in all phases of work and actively work to build new, advanced skills.
  • Independently stage materials and supplies on the job for efficient execution of work tasks.
  • Assist leading others with direction of daily workflow and tasks and mentor newer employees.
  • Display and apply an advanced working knowledge of:
    • Ability to read blueprints to build job correctly
    • Secure forms at all stages to brace and pour concrete
    • Ability to execute step forming, setting drains, cutting lips, and setting pipe bollards
    • Sequencing plans for successful and efficient pour and finish of concrete projects
    • Capability to independently operate concrete saw for cutting finished concrete
    • Layout for forming, set & brace forms for flat concrete and curbs, straight or radius
  • Experience and precision using tools to manipulate concrete with pouring and finishing:
    • Straight edge & 2-man straight edge

  • Capability and knowledge in finishing interior and exterior concrete.

Crane Truck CDL Driver

Position Description:

Join our team and family culture as a full-time, direct hire Crane Truck CDL Driver. Utilize your CDL to drive and operate our crane truck and other various large, heavy-duty trucks and equipment with a local company. The advanced employee will be expected to exhibit high level efficiency and skills in all driving and maneuvering situations and demonstrate proactiveness in all facets of work.  Employees work year-round in an outdoor work setting, are home daily, and receive weekly pay.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Transport company vehicles such as crane truck, semi, and dump trucks in a safe & efficient manner.
  • Safely and with high precision operate crane controls to lift, position, and load and unload heavy materials at construction sites.
  • Properly rig materials and determine lifting capacity to ensure safe operation.
  • Drive vehicles to jobsites, follow directions, navigate traffic, and follow all safety protocols and laws.
  • Conduct a thorough daily pre-trip inspection of the vehicle and crane prior and report any needed maintenance or vehicle issues to the shop immediately.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with supervisors, onsite project leaders, and team members.
  • Problem-solving skills to navigate and maneuver unexpected obstacles on job sites
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks and safe driving habits.
  • Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing work environment.

Position Requirements:

  • Valid non-restricted Ohio Class A CDL license
  • Valid medical certificate
  • National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) preferred
  • Knowledge of concrete construction and poured walls is a plus
  • Ability to climb equipment, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds

Residential Footing Crew Leader

Position Description:

The Crew Leader in Residential Footings is a critical role at MPW.  Our Footing Crew Leaders are expected to live out the Mission and Values of the Company, be leaders of our teams, communicate with customers and building officials on job sites and efficiently produce top quality foundations. This position requires technical skills, ethics, integrity, and leadership. Employees work year-round in an outdoor work setting, are home daily, and receive weekly pay.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Obtain daily assignments, review, and clarify as needed with supervisor.
  • Load all supplies and equipment needed for successful completion of work assigned.
  • Strategically plan all aspects of the day’s work in advance, being mindful of potential obstacles that may arise and prepare to successfully overcome unforeseen challenges.
  • Promote safety by conducting a thorough, daily safety inspection of the jobsite upon arrival, ensuring the jobsite is clean and organized, and hold team accountable for safety.
  • Effectively communicate the day’s plan and assign team members tasks for maximum efficiency.
  • Lead team by example exhibiting safe, efficient, and productive work habits and focus on training and mentoring team.
  • Make accurate calculations for materials needed for the job.
  • Complete required paperwork and records and oversee time keeping for team.
  • Assist supervisor with feedback for team member evaluations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to frequent interruptions and plan changes throughout the day.
  • Troubleshoot on the job issues and employ problem solving skills to achieve daily goals.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality work that meets MPW standards with minimal mistakes.
